Charles Clemensen interview, 1984 July 21.

Clememsen relates in detail his two summers as a smokejumper working out of the Cave Junction, Or., base. He describes the training, fires in California and Oregon, project work, jumping equipment, and the uncertainty over the future of the program in 1949.
